Custom Reports Explained

Custom Reports is where you can create your own bespoke report within the Insights platform, picking and choosing your favourite charts and metrics to schedule to send to yourself and your team.

Creating a Custom Report:

  1. Go to the Insights portal - https://insights.wireless-social.com/page/0

  2. On the left-hand side panel choose Custom Reports

  1. Once selected, this will bring up the option of New Report or Manage Reports. To start building a new bespoke report, select “New Report”.

  1. If you have previously created a custom report, you will be able to see a list of these historic reports on the left hand side. You will be able to RENAME, EDIT, and DELETE those reports if needed within the Manage Reports section. You can also organise these into custom folders to better manage reports i.e. “Connie’s reports” or “Operations Team report”.

  1. Once selected “New Report”, you will be prompted to give your report a name e.g. “Footfall – London sites only” OR “Demographics per Brand” and specify a folder if required. Click “Add page”, you will be able to see the name of your report in the left hand drop down and you will be brought through to the report creation page.

  1. To begin setting up your report, select the “Edit” pencil in the top right hand corner to start adding Widgets. See here for more information on Widgets.

Types of widget available:

  • Figure - A single value, such as used on the dashboard. These can include comparisons

  • Timeseries - A graph (bar, line or area) with time along the bottom axis. These can show multiple metrics at once and you can choose what level of detail you want (e.g. day, week, month)

  • Table - A table of figures with either a row per-venue or a row per-venue-group

  • Pie chart - A single metric, broken down by segment and show as a pie chart with percentages

Each widget type has it’s own pop-up to allow customising.

  1. Once you have selected your widgets, you can move, resize or duplicate the widgets on a page by using the controls in the top right of each box.

  1. When you are happy with your report, hit the “SAVE” button

  1. You can then use the “Schedule report” button to send this to yourself and your team on a regular basis. Unless specified within the Widgets themselves, the report will default to the date range and venue selection in the top left hand corner when sending on a schedule.
