Please note that Wireless One self-serve tools are currently in testing and not yet available to all users.

What are Decisions?

Decisions is a powerful feature on Wireless One that enables you to customise your WiFi login journey using specific criteria. This includes tailoring experiences based on demographics, login history, device details, venue specifics, and more.

Types of Decisions

You can set decisions based on the following criteria:

  • Age (user’s age)

  • Gender (user’s gender)

  • Login Count (how many times the user has connected to WiFi)

  • Device OS (iOS, Android, etc.)

  • Device Type (mobile or desktop)

  • Days until Birthday (how close to the user’s birthday)

  • Venue (which venue the user is logging in at)

  • Venue Group (a list of venues the user could be logging in at)

  • Hour of Day (what time of day is it?)

  • Day of Week (which day of the week is it?)

  • Month of Year (what month is it?)

  • Date Selector (a specific date or date range)

  • Auth Method (how did the user log in?)

  • Question (how did the user respond to a question?)

How to Add a Decision to a Journey

  • On Insights, go to Configure WiFi > Login Journeys.

  • From the table, open the login journey where you want to add a decision.

  • Drag a decision node from the list on the left of the login journey editor.

  • Click the ‘edit’ icon.

  • Choose your type of decision (e.g., Date Selector).

  • Set up your decision option(s) (e.g., between 01/12/23 - 26/12/23)

  • Close the decision node editor when you’re finished.

  • Add any additional nodes required for this decision (e.g., ‘show page’ or ‘go to URL’).

  • Connect the decision node and option(s) to the stage of the journey where the decision will have the desired effect.

  • Save the journey to update the configuration.

How to Edit an Existing Decision

  • On Insights, go to Configure WiFi > Login Journeys.

  • Open the login journey containing the decision.

  • Click on the decision node to highlight it, then click the ‘edit’ icon.

  • Change the configuration in the edit window (decision type and/or options).

  • Once you’re satisfied with the updates, close the decision window.

  • Click 'Save' to update the journey.

How to Remove a Decision

  • On Insights, go to Configure WiFi > Login Journeys.

  • Open the login journey containing the decision.

  • Click on the decision node to highlight it, then click the ‘delete’ icon.

  • Delete any additional nodes related to the decision.

  • Ensure all stages of the remaining parts of the journey are connected.

  • Once satisfied, click ‘Save Journey’ to update the login journey with the changes made.
